I was wondering, is Mort left out? I was talking to a friend and she said the next story she'd like to see would be a Mort-centric story. I know he was kind of left behind by Gar and Posey in terms of character development, but underappreciated? It's strange, Mort originally was just a tech geek when I first made this comic (with a goatee no less), and in the course of a few months, turned into someone who's jaded at the world and spouting what's wrong with it. Some may call him cynical, but in reality, he wants to be naive, but he knows it'd be ignoring the truth. He's a true scientist, one who studies the world around him and comes up with a conclusion through reasoning. Unfortunately his results aren't exactly sunshine and puppies. He hasn't given up on the world, but he doesn't know how to fix it. As far as the comic goes, he's probably the most optimistic. Sure Gar enjoys life and Posey is still looking for her own niche, but Mort sees that the world is a callous place, and he still thinks it can be fixed. But back to my main question, is Mort underappreciated? It won't change my upcoming line up of comics, but I just wanted to know.

I had to vote the last one because as I clicked to view the poll, those exact words popped into my head. But to answer the question now that I do know who Mort is, I will say no. If anything, his true mark has yet to be realized.

Yes. Poor guy, he's little more than plot fodder. T_T Give him life, give him his own comic pages... Give him a PET! XD

I think Mort is just one of those characters that needs time to come out from the corners of your crative mind. He's not the crazy exciting one like Gar, nor is he the one who has any "Growth" to go through like Posey... So he's stuck being the guy who has lines, but doesn't have much else.

Yep. And while the story I have now doesn't change him so much as give him some screen time. But it does offer a bit into his driven personality. He's a fanatic.

I don't think he's underappreciated. I think you spread the story out amonsgt the characters quite well, and some characters work better when we're only given a limited glimpse into their lives. Katherine Ghilchrist in Wapsi Square is an example. YOu wanna know more about this strange person, and the brief glimpses we see tend to therfore be meaningful and explorative as opposed to "Oh its Mort again."

yeah, probably. he's not used in that many comics, and few people actually remeber him as one of the characters, i think. or at least one of the important ones. when he's there, he's just sortof...there.
